The Creator

Frangipani is being nurtured by a nature-loving entrepreneur who has been living on a 24,000 square feet suburban estate with his wife and two daughters for the last seven years and has personally selected each of the 6000+ fruit and flower bearing trees already planted at Frangipani.

Here are excerpts from a conversation with Prashant Kajaria, Chairman of the SPA Group and the man behind Frangipani Country Estates.

What was your idea behind this unique development?

The whole idea originated about four years ago. I have been living in a half-acre estate where I have been constantly connected with nature. I moved out from Defence Colony (Indiranagar), much to the dismay of my friends, to the outskirts, only for enjoying a larger space and and be surrounded by natural flora and fauna rather than ugly concrete structures spoiling my privacy.

How are country estates better than city housing?

Country estates are much more relaxed and spacious compared to city homes. With the sheer expanse, privacy, closeness to nature, lower pollution levels, the chance to grow your own produce and many other benefits, country homes let you live a longer, more enriched life. The price you pay for a small plot in the city might get you an entire acre in the countryside. Space is luxury, not the value of the location.

What is your vision for Frangipani?

The idea at Frangipani is to create a community of like-minded people, for whom luxury is about the space, the ambience and the neighbours.

How big is the factor of distance from the city?

You can’t have a 30-acre oasis like this in the city, with concrete high-rises all around. The fact that Frangipani is less than 45 minutes from Bangalore’s major office hubs (Whitefield, Sarjapur ORR and Electronics City) is perfect. The added advantage is that there is no high-rise development in a 3 km radius.

What is the demography like?

After taking in what life has to offer, the people who will be living here are super-achievers who are tired of running the rat race and clocking in at 9:30 every morning. This diverse palette of people have a mindset of getting to live life their way, close to nature and in a community of similar super-achievers. They are venerated for their thoughts, ideas and actions and are now choosing the optimum work-life balance.
